I bought SENTIA SPIRITS GABA Red and Black 500ml from an Amazon store in Great Britain, hoping for a decent alcohol-free alternative. Instead, I got a nightmare in a bottle. The taste? Imagine heavy pepper mixed with potpourri and wood varnish. Absolutely revolting.
This stuff is supposed to mimic the buzz of alcohol without the hangover. Well, it failed miserably. I felt sick for two days after drinking it. No buzz, just a horrible hangover-like experience. For $116.50, I expected much more. We've got two and a half bottles left that we can’t even touch. Want a good time? Stay far away from this product!

I felt it might be helpful to provide you with some background information on SENTIA and our Product Development. We do research ways to mask some of the bitterness inherent in the plants we use. As a result, SENTIA is a concentrated blend of botanicals with a strong taste. While many people tell us they love and appreciate the resulting liquid, clearly we are all different. We do understand and appreciate that SENTIA, like any drink, cannot be to everyone's liking.
Effect - You mentioned a lack of effect and this can be for a number of reasons.
While we limit the strength of the active ingredients according to standards set by the Food Standards Authority, our individual chemistry (and especially our GABA system) is very much our own. Individual differences in DNA and physiology are further accentuated by diet, health and lifestyle. As a result tolerances vary from person to person, and so does our experience of SENTIA.
Alcohol in system - Alcohol consumption increases tolerance to GABA release and this is likely to moderate the SENTIA experience. Studies suggest that abstaining from alcohol for 2 to 3 weeks can help to reset our tolerance to GABA release.
Medication - SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Inhibitors), anti-psychotics, tranquillisers and some epileptic medications may inhibit the effects of SENTIA.
Tolerance - Given the above, we do see a wide range in tolerance and of responses to SENTIA in the consumer reports that we receive. These range from ‘too strong’ through ‘just right’, to ‘little or no effect’.
Hangover symptoms - This is especially disappointing and I have highlighted this in our customer reports database. I have written you a personal email with some questions so we can investigate further.
Again, I am sorry you did not enjoy SENTIA. I can reassure you our development team works hard to continuously improve our liquids and we regularly receive thankyous, reviews, congratulations, and industry awards for flavour and function.

The flavor is intense, mostly fruity and somewhat herbal, more enjoyable to me when combined with seltzer. I drank as much as a small wine glass at a time and never noticed any of the mood effects described in some testimonials. I will keep it around as an occasional alternative to my favorite NA beers.

Individual variances: Your GABA system is very much your own, and individual chemistry varies from person to person, so the experience of Sentia will vary too.
Alcohol in system: Regular alcohol drinkers may have a high tolerance to GABA release, which will moderate the Sentia experience. Studies suggest that you can reset your tolerance to GABA release by refraining from drinking for 2 to 3 weeks.

Expectations: Sentia is not designed to get you “drunk”, but offer a more refined experience. All feelings are of course very subjective, and will vary from person to person.
Context: There is a great deal of scientific evidence indicating that drinking (or talking any mind altering substance) alone creates a very different effect from doing so socially. The science suggests the same will be true with Sentia.
